Founded in 1926, the Ontario Trucking Association (OTA) has been the voice responsible for trucking in Ontario. OTA members consist of trucking companies from virtually every Canadian province, as well as the United States, including many of the largest transportation enterprises in North America.
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) was established within the Department of Transportation on January 1, 2000, pursuant to the Motor Carrier Safety Improvement Act of 1999 (49 U.S.C. 113). Formerly a part of the Federal Highway Administration, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s primary mission is to prevent commercial motor vehicle-related fatalities and injuries.

The Fleet Safety Council is an association of driver trainers and safety professionals working to promote safety within the transportation, transport, bus, and coach industries. The Council encourages the improvement of driver behavior through increased awareness and training. Working with Government agencies and private organizations, the Council strives for a uniform system of safety requirements for drivers in Ontario.
